Paula Deen surprises NC shoppers with grocery store visit; donates $2.5k to charity

BLACK MOUNTAIN, N.C. — Celebrity Chef Paula Deen paid a visit to the North Carolina mountains, to help out a charity in the area.

WLOS-TV reported that Deen surprised shoppers at the Ingles in Black Mountain and also presented a $2,500 donation to Manna Food Bank.

Deen signed autographs for shoppers and fans. She said fighting hunger is a battle we all need to get behind.

“As rich as this country is, there should never ever, there’s no excuse for a child or an older person going to bed in this country hungry,” she said.
