Facebook went down briefly early Thursday morning with an error message on the site sending the internet into complete meltdown.

For about half an hour, users who tried to access Facebook in the United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, Israel and India received the following message: “Sorry, something went wrong. We’re working on getting this fixed as soon as we can.”

The site is up and running again after sending many internet users into a blind panic, with many taking to Twitter to let everyone else know it was down.

Problems were also reported across multiple nations in Asia and the Middle East.

Wow I didn’t even know it went down.. it’s sad the world goes into a panic over Facebook going down. I can’t believe what the world is coming to now.

That is the problem, people who live on Facebook 24/7 have no clue as to what is going on in the real world.

Facebook crashed, my world came to a screeching halt. I survived but all I got was this lousy T-shirt. :)

Calm down, everyone; I think there might have been a wee bit of sarcastic embellishment with the use of the words ‘blind panic’ by the reporter.
