Arrest made in connection with murder of Jamestown woman

GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. -- An arrest has been made in connection with the murder of Joyce Price Eaton of Jamestown.

Police have arrested Anthony Clay Campbell, of Mocksville. He was charged with one count of first degree murder. He is confined in the Guilford County Jail under no bond.

Eaton's body was discovered last Thursday morning in the McLeansville area.

Deputies responded to the scene around 11:20 a.m. and found the body on the side of the road about 1/4 mile from Mt. Hope Church Road.

The victim had been shot at least one time and stabbed at least one time, according to Randy Powers with the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies believe her body had been there 15-20 hours.
