Power outages reported in Guilford, Davidson and Forsyth counties as storms move through

Power outages have been reported in Forsyth, Davidson and Guilford counties as strong storms moved across the Piedmont late Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning.

As of 1 a.m., 1,200 Duke Energy customers in Forsyth County, 2,100 Duke Energy customers in Davidson County and 600 city of High Point customers are without power. Over 500 Duke Energy customers in Guilford County are also without power.

Additional outages are likely as the storms move southwest to northeast. A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect in Rockingham County until 1 a.m.

Duke Energy is reporting 12,000 outages statewide.
