GRANVILLE COUNTY, N.C. — A woman is facing murder charges after deputies say she stabbed her husband in the neck at their home in Oxford.

The victim was taken to the hospital where he died.

WTVD is reporting that deputies were called to the home in the 4200 block of Belltown Road around 2:30 a.m. after a reported stabbing.

Deputies say a husband and wife were having an argument when the wife, Rotonya Russell, 40, stabbed Carlos Russell, 35, in the neck.

Authorities said the couple’s 15-year-old daughter was at home at the time of the assault, and called 911 for help.

Russell has been charged with second degree murder.
