Motorcyclist dies after colliding with car at Winston-Salem intersection

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A man has died after his motorcycle collided with another vehicle at an intersection in Winston-Salem Tuesday night.

The crash happened around 10:23 p.m. at the intersection of Ninth Street and Cameron Avenue.

Police say Tony Tyrone Crockett, 26, was riding his 2000 Suzuki motorcycle north on Cameron Avenue and collided with a car as he attempted to cross Cameron Avenue.

Crockett was taken to North Carolina Baptist Medical Center, where he died.

The driver of the car was Misty Denise Williams, 25. She was traveling west on Ninth Street, crossing Cameron Avenue when the collision happened.

Police said more details are not being released because of the ongoing investigation.

This is the 8th traffic death of the year, which is the same number during the same period of 2013.
