KING, N.C. — A woman was killed in a mobile home fire just outside the King city limits Monday afternoon.

According to King Fire Department Assistant Chief Brad Cheek, the King Fire Department and other departments responded to the 300 block of Creekridge Drive around 4:40 p.m.

The last fire units cleared the scene shortly before 8 p.m. One woman lost her life, Cheek said.

The woman’s identification is being withheld until family members are notified of the incident.

The fire reportedly caused heavy damage to the mobile home.
