ISLE OF WRIGHT, Va. — A 44-year-old Carrollton man is behind bars after officials say he choked an elderly woman and attacked an Isle of Wight deputy when he tried to intervene, according to WTKR.

The incident happened on May 22. When the deputy arrived, he observed a naked man choking a woman.

When the deputy attempted to intervene, the suspect, Derrick Allison, attacked the deputy. Officials said he started growling and trying to bite the deputy’s face.

The deputy deployed two Taser cartridges but Allison removed the probes. The two fought for several minutes and the deputy was finally able to gain control over Allison, WTKR reports.

Other deputies were able to help arrest Allison.

Allison and the deputy were treated at local hospitals.

Allison was charged with abduction, assault and battery of an officer, disorderly conduct, strangulation, assault and battery, resisting arrest, destruction of property, assault and battery of a family member.
