CALDWELL COUNTY, N.C. — A missing elderly couple from Caldwell County may have been involved in a fatal crash in Burke County, according to WCNC.

A Silver Alert was issued Wednesday morning after Creed William Goble, 76, and Margie Carter Goble, 71, were reported missing. They were last seen in the 3800 block of Hickory Boulevard in Hudson.

Authorities say the Gobles were driving a silver Dodge Ram with NC tags YRA7241. Officers told WCNC that a car matching this description drove off an embankment on Highway 64 near Propst Road in Burke County.

The identities of the victims have not been positively confirmed yet, as rescuers will have to repel down the embankment to reach the crash site.

But the Silver Alert has been canceled by the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office.

Creed was last seen wearing jeans and a button-up shirt. He’s described as a 5’9″ and weighing 160 pounds. He has gray hair, brown eyes and wears glasses.

Margie was last seen wearing cropped pants, a t-shirt and sandals. She’s described as standing 5’1″ and weighing 120 pounds with gray hair and brown eyes.

The Gobles both suffer from dementia or some other cognitive impairment.

If you have any information on the Gobles’ whereabouts, call the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office at 828-757-1400.
