CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man is facing charges after police say he raped two women at a south Charlotte church.

The first incident was reported just after 11 p.m. on May 15 in the 2000 block of Emerywood Drive.

Police found a 25-year-old woman outside of the church claiming she had been raped.

The victim told police she arranged to meet Andre Jones, 29, in the parking lot of the church. She said Jones raped her on church grounds and then fled the scene.

Police said Jones struck again exactly one week later.

They say shortly after 5 a.m. on May 22, a second woman arranged to meet Jones at the same location.

The woman told police the suspect pulled out a knife, raped her and then ran away.

Jones was arrested the next day and is facing two counts of rape and carrying a concealed weapon.
