Man rushed to hospital after falling 20 feet off bridge in Catawba Co.

CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. — A man in Maiden was rushed to the hospital Friday morning after falling nearly 20 feet off a bridge.

Two people driving by spotted the man lying near the edge of the bridge on Providence Church Road near the Maiden water plant.

According to WSOC, the man ran out of gas and became dehydrated while walking on the bridge. Police say he tumbled off the bridge and into the creek below.

Police don’t believe the man had been in the creek long when he was found. Witnesses say he was conscious when paramedics arrived, but was taken to the hospital for treatment.
