Reidsville man accused of shooting out girlfriend’s car window

ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, N.C. — A Reidsville man was arrested after police say he fired a gun at his girlfriend’s car while intoxicated, shattering the window.

His girlfriend was in the vehicle, but no one was injured.

According to a police report, the the 52-year-old victim said she was at the home of her boyfriend, Larry Darnell Broadnax, 57, on Garrison Road in Reidsville when he became drunk and started making threats.

When Broadnax grabbed a gun from underneath the couch, the victim ran to her car. As she was attempting to drive away, Broadnax reportedly shot out the window.

The woman was not struck by the bullet.

Broadnax was arrested and charged with feloniously discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle.

He was placed in the Rockingham County Jail under a $50,000 secured bond.
