Police investigating armed robbery of person in Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Police are investigating a robbery from a person that occurred in a Taco Bell parking lot around 7:35 p.m.

Officers responded to 1115 Summit Ave. around 7:35 p.m. and met with the victim.

The victim said he had arranged to meet an acquaintance at this location in order to purchase a cell phone. As he was waiting in his vehicle for his acquaintance to arrive, the suspect entered his vehicle through the unlocked rear door, pointed a handgun at him and demanded his cash.

The victim complied and the suspect fled with an undisclosed sum of money in a silver four-door Honda Civic, last seen traveling north on Fairview Street.

No injuries were reported.

The suspect was described as a black male in his 20s or 30s, 6 feet 1 inches tall with a muscular build, wearing a pink and white checkered shirt and blue jean shorts at the time of the incident.

    Sounds like the guy with the gun knew the victim would have cash. Wonder if the ” acquaintance” ever showed up?
