ASHEBORO, N.C. — No charges will be filed in the fatal motorcycle wreck that took place Saturday in Asheboro, officials say.

Larry Steven McLean, 55, of Ramseur, died when his Harley Davidson collided with a Ford Fusion on U.S. 64 at the entrance to Village Plaza.

Police say he tried turning left into the Village Plaza from the outside lane and collided with a 2012 Ford Fusion on the inside lane.

An email from Asheboro police said an investigation determined that the driver of the Ford Fusion “could not have avoided the accident” therefore no charges will be filed.

I would like to look at the cell phone records of the driver of the car, looks like the majority of the damage was on the side not the front so I would the the bike was merging into the left lane and was hit by someone who was not paying attention. 30 years of riding and I personally never seen someone turn left from the right lane but I’ve had a lot of close calls when I was merging into the left lane though

Blah Blah Blah!!! The report says that the motorcyclist turned “merged” left INTO the ford….You just said the motorcycle was merging….. If he was the one maneuvering then he was the causation…… it doesn’t matter what the ford driver was doing as long as it was in his lane and not over the speed limit. Nobody should be texting true but motorcyclist make poor choices too….. Everyone always wants to blame the other guy….. I’m sorry Mr. McLean lost his life
