Former NC teaching assistant found guilty of sex crimes

JONES COUNTY, N.C. – A former North Carolina teaching assistant has been found guilty of committing sex crimes against students. reported that Dannion Martin, 39, of Maysville, has been sentenced to two years and two months in prison.

Martin was convicted Friday afternoon on two counts of sex offense with a student, but was found not guilty on two counts of second-degree sexual offence.

Martin was a teaching assistant at Jones Senior High School near Trenton at the time of the crimes. He was also the school’s assistant football coach.

Authorities said Martin made two female students perform sex acts at the school in 2006 and 2008.
