Man accused of stealing officer’s uniform, puppy

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police have made an arrest in connection with the theft of an officer’s uniforms, gear and puppy.

Christopher Reina, 18, is charged with breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, felony larceny of a dog, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of stolen goods.

According to WTVD, police have have recovered most of the police equipment. The officer’s puppy is still missing.

Reina told police that he gave the puppy to an unknown family in the parking lot of Beauty World on Avondale Drive.

Investigators are asking that the puppy, who takes medicine, be returned. Whoever has the puppy will not face charges, police say.

The investigation is ongoing.

      As I said in my other comment, we need harsher punishment. If criminals get away with it once, and he did, they will do it again and again.

    At age 18 he is already is a convicted felon. Total loser scum. We need harsher punishment for scum like this. Chain gangs and hard labor would be great. Toss them in jail and make them work and work hard from sun up to sun down.
    Maybe, just maybe they will think before commiting a crime if they know that the punishment will be harsh.

    Our prisons aren’t hard enough for these crazies.. If we had prisons like Mexico I bet they would come out a different person!

    Hopefully the puppy is microchipped and the family that has it actually take it to the vet. Then hopefully the vet will scan for a chip and the officer will get his puppy back. looking at the picture I really hope it’s a good family that has the pup right now, otherwise the poor thing is in danger. I hope the little furbaby gets home soon. this trash needs some hardcore punishment.
