DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. (WGCL) — A family member called 911 on Thursday afternoon to report something horrific. Two of her family members had been stabbed to death in the home they shared with their son.

Calvin Ray Jr., 39, was taken into custody hours after the couple were found dead.

Police said that Ray was arrested without incident, and identified his mother and father as the victims. The swords were found inside the home.

“It is a pretty horrific scene inside,” Deputy Chief for DeKalb County Police Cedric Alexander said.

According to court documents, Ray has been arrested before for aggravated assault with possession of a knife or firearm during a crime.

Ray pleaded guilty but mentally ill in those cases and was sentenced to time served plus 10 years of probation.

“Basically, I am sick to my stomach just to hear of it,” Dorothy Watkins said.

Watkins lives just a few houses down from the crime scene on the 3100 block of Pheasant Drive in Decatur.

“It brings grief to my heart to know these parents were elderly and to have a son do that to them so I am really sick to my stomach about it, Watkins said.

The names of the victims have not been released.

Police have not released a motive.

Names of the victims have not been released, but the son who killed them is Calvin Ray, Jr. One might figure out that his dad who was killed was Calvin Ray, Sr. Make sense?!

Our laws should become more stringent in cases of mental illnesses. Also, we should re-address our policies on people who are suspected or suspicious of criminal activities . Our laws have too many loop holes and are biased. Our country is too free!
