Suspects suffer burns while setting church van on fire in Yadkin Co., report says

YADKIN COUNTY, N.C. — A man and a woman were arrested after police say they set a church van on fire in Yadkin County.

Burns on their arms and hands led to their arrest, according to a press release.

Officers received a report on April 22 about a church van on fire at Grace Bible Church on Highway 601 in Yadkinville.

Investigators deemed the fire suspicious and were alerted by the local hospital about a man and woman being treated for burns.

James Alexander Blevins, 23, and Rebecca Ann Shore, 28, both of Yadkinville, were arrested and charged with one felony count of burning personal property, one misdemeanor count of injury to personal property and one misdemeanor count of larceny.

They are both in the Yadkin County Detention Center under a $10,000 bond.
