Man accused of choking Chihuahua for barking

LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. — A man was arrested and charged with animal cruelty after police say he choked a Chihuahua.

Officers were called to a home in Maiden for a domestic disturbance, but found Jason Tyler Hilderbran, 18, holding his mother’s Chihuahua and choking it, according to WSOC.

The dog was not injured.

It was reported by deputies that Hilderbran was choking the dog because it was barking at him.

Hilderbran was charged with one count of cruelty to animals. He was released on a $1,000 secured bond.
