GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. — New details released in the death of High Point teacher Laurissa Armstrong reveals that she was shot 17 times.
According to the documents from the medical examiner’s office, Armstrong was shot 17 times by her estranged husband.
The cause of her death is still listed as a gunshot wound to the head.
The domestic incident happened last August outside the Steeplechase Apartment complex in Greensboro.
Armstrong’s husband was later found dead in a parked car, not far from her body.
He died of natural causes.
Details later emerged revealing that two judges had denied Armstrong a restraining order against her husband in the months before the shooting.

I thought he shot himself. This article says he died of natural causes. How convenient for him to die after killing his wife
Debbie Brown
I do not see where it says he died from natural causes only that he was later found dead in a parked car.

How nice of the judges to deny a restraining order against him, how do they feel now, he was evidently a real threat to her.
Kevin Mitchell
How would a restraining order have prevented the murder?
Ant
How many of you actually believe that a restraining order would have prevented this? I’m betting the answer is WAY TOO MANY!!

If a restraining order is so worthless, why are they so hard to get? Throw the Judge “BUMS OUT!!!”
