Suspect sought in Thomasville bank robbery

THOMASVILLE, N.C. — Police are looking for a suspect after a bank in Thomasville was robbed Tuesday morning.

Police say the suspect may be covered in burgundy dye.robber

The robbery was reported at 9:11 a.m. at the First Bank on Winston Street.

The suspect entered the bank, showed a handgun and demanded money. The suspect then fled on foot.

No one was injured in the robbery.

Police said an exploded burgundy dye pack and money were found in the roadway near Highland Avenue.

Police said the man was wearing a light gray or white sweatshirt, a dark hoodie and a ball cap underneath the hood. He is thought to be about 5 feet 9 inches and between 30 and 40 years old.

There is no further information at this time.
