Black bear found dead on bench at North Carolina State University

RALEIGH, N.C. — A┬áblack bear was found dead early Tuesday on campus at North Carolina State University.

A groundskeeper found the bear around 8 a.m. outside Bostian Hall.

North Carolina Wildlife Resources responded to campus and removed the bear from a bench around 9:15 a.m. Tuesday.

Authorities believe the 200-pound bear was killed elsewhere and moved to campus.

Photos of the bear were posted on social media early Tuesday.

No other information was provided.

Anyone who has information about the bear is asked to call the wildlife commission at 1-800-662-7137.
