ONTARIO, Ohio — An Ohio woman shown in a surveillance video taking a stuffed animal from a 14-month-old child’s grave has turned herself into police and admitted to taking the toy, according to WJW.

A large stuffed duck was placed at the grave around 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Video shot at the cemetery shows a woman walking away with the toy in her hand.

The video was posted on Facebook by police in Ontario and has been shared thousands of times.

On Thursday, police said Frieda Kay Shade, of Mansfield, admitted to being the person shown in the video. She said she saw a loose dog on the property and she picked up the stuffed animal to keep the dog from destroying it.

Shade was served a summons for petty theft.
