Teen faces arson charges after family forced to flee burning home

NEW HAMPSHIRE — A New Hampshire teenager was arrested Wednesday after police say he started a fire that destroyed a home and forced a family to flee.

According to the New Hampshire Union Leader, Shawn Hoyt, 19, faces one count of felony charge of arson.

He is being held on a $5,000 bond.

The two-alarm fire began around 9 p.m. on Tuesday and it was reported that a woman and her four children had to flee the home quickly.

No one was injured.

A group of teens were seen running down a nearby street soon after the fire started, according to reports.

The fire is just one in a series of fires being investigated.
