A Boston Marathon runner was near the end of the finish line when he collapsed.

Instead of running around him, fellow runners helped him up and carried him.

The act of kindness was caught in a series of photos tweeted by Washington Post reporter Wesley Lowery.

The photos perfectly illustrate the spirit of the Boston Marathon just one year after the bombings that killed three and injured 260.
