WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A family of five has been displaced by a fire at their home in Winston-Salem Monday morning.

Crews responded to the fire at Farm Acres Court around 7:39 a.m. where flames and smoke were visible.

The family of five, two adults and three children, were not home at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported.

Fire investigators believe the fire may have started in the garage, but a cause has not been determined.

The house is not a total loss but crews say there is extensive damage.

Red Cross is on the scene to assist the family.
