ASHEBORO, N.C. – The North Carolina Zoo has postponed its Easter “Eggstravaganza” event due to rainy weather conditions, according to officials with the zoo.

The zoo said the event will continue on either Sunday or Monday, depending on weather conditions.

Schedule boards posted around the park and a map and schedule at the zoo’s admission booths will list times and locations for the event.

The animals will be given paper mache eggs created and decorated by zoo volunteers that are filled with special food treats. Visitors will be able to watch the animals tear the eggs open and eat the treats.
