Victim shot in attempted robbery in Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A man was shot during an attempted robbery on South Benbow Road Friday evening, according to police.

Police responded to the 500 block of South Benbow Road around 8:45 p.m. in reference to an attempted robbery from a person.

The victim said he was out walking when he was approached by a man who asked for marijuana. The victim told the man he did not have any.

The suspect then produced a handgun and demanded money. The victim ran and was shot once in the foot as he fled the scene. He was transported to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect was described as a black male who was approximately 6’0″ tall and of medium build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black Adidas sweatpants at the time of the incident.
