RALEIGH, N.C. — A High Point resident has been identified as one of the two runners who died running the half marathon Sunday during Raleigh’s inaugural Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon, WRAL reports.

Jason Schlosser, 31, collapsed near the 11-mile marker of the half marathon.

Schlosser lived with his wife Renee and their two cats and two dogs in High Point, according to his obituary on the Cumby Family Funeral Services website. He is survived by his parents, sisters Kina, Drue, Sigrid, Rebecca and Alyssa and brother Kurt.

Schlosser was employed at RF Micro Devices as a product marketing manager. 

Derrick Myers, 35, was the other runner who died in Sunday’s marathon.

The causes of the two men’s deaths have not been disclosed.
