60-year-old man killed in Winston-Salem wreck

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A Winston-Salem man died in a single-car wreck Tuesday morning on University Parkway.

The driver, James Lamonte Johnson Jr., 60, of 205 Parkwood Court, Winston-Salem, died at the scene.

Police say Johnson was driving a 1993 Ford Ranger south in the 3200 block of University Parkway around 10:16 a.m. when his vehicle went of the left side of the road and collided with a tree.

It is not known why Johnson drove off the roadway.

The wreck is under investigation.
