NC Zoo kicks off sustainability campaign

Patches the Bear at the N.C. Zoo

ASHEBORO, N.C. – The North Carolina Zoo is kicking off a sustainability program, aiming to help the environment and raise money for polar bear research.

Zoo officials said the goal of the My Actions/Million Actions Campaign is to do one million sustainable/green actions between now and May 1.

People can visit to sign up.

Participants are encouraged to do environmentally friendly actions, like turning off the water while brushing their teeth.

After that, they can go to the website, type in the action and the North Carolina Zoo Society will receive 25 cents.

Organizers said all money raised will go toward polar bear research.
