Suspect sought in attempted bank robbery in Asheboro

ASHEBORO, N.C. — Police are looking for a man they say attempted to rob a bank in Asheboro Tuesday afternoon.

Officers say a man walked into the Bank of North Carolina at 175 N. Fayetteville St. around 2 p.m. and demanded money from the teller.

The suspect then fled the bank.

He is described as middle-aged, 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall, wearing a white hat and glasses.

The man may be driving a silver four-door or extra cab pickup truck.

No one was injured in the robbery.

    They have to know there are cameras everywhere and they will get caught. Somebody will recognize him and turn him in. The sooner the better.
