Victim robbed in broad daylight after attempting to buy iPad in Burlington

BURLINGTON, N.C. — Police said a victim was robbed outside a store in Burlington after attempting to buy an iPad.

Officers responded to the Five Below at 1477 Boone Station Drive in Burlington around 12 p.m. Tuesday.

Officers said a man approached the victim who was walking in the parking lot and offered to sell the victim a used iPad. The victim gave the suspect an undetermined amount of money.

After the victim inspected the device, it was determined the device was not an iPad. When the victim attempted to retrieve the money paid, the suspect pulled out a handgun.

The suspect left with an undetermined amount of money. He was last seen driving west on University Drive.

An incomplete suspect description was provided by police.

The investigation is ongoing.
