ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. — A man from Haw River plans to use the $100,000 he won playing the $120 Million Cash game to invest in his future.

Adrian Jones was standing outside in downtown Burlington when he learned of his big win.

“I was on the phone with my girlfriend while I scratched the ticket,” Jones said. “I thought I had won $1,000. Then I looked at the ticket and yelled ‘No wait, I won $100,000!’ It took about ten seconds to sink in. After that I was speechless.”

After state and federal taxes were withheld, Jones received a check for $69,206. He purchased the lucky $20 ticket at the Wilco on Webb Street in Burlington.

“I’m not going to waste this money,” Jones said as he collected his winnings on Monday. “I’m going to invest it and make it last.”
