Firefighter saves 6-foot python from fire

MUSKEGON, Mich. – A firefighter in Michigan is being credited with rescuing a 6-foot python from a burning home on Sunday evening.

Firefighter Scott Hemmelsbach rescued the 6-foot python from its terrarium inside a two-story home in Muskegon, Michigan.

“He was asking all the firefighters if anyone would go in and rescue the snake, but no one wanted anything to do with it,” Hemmelsbach told Michigan Live. “They looked at me and said, ‘Would you do it?’”

When Hemmelsbach got inside the, the python was attempting to crawl up the side of the terrarium to escape.
