FORT MILL, S.C. — A Charlotte man has been charged attempted murder after police said he stabbed another man at a bar over a game of pool.

Police told WSOC-TV Richard Morris attacked the victim, Jake Chismar, Monday night for being too loud.

Witnesses at the Drunken Goat in Fort Mill said he told Chismar and his friends to quiet down because he had money at stake in a game of pool.

Police told the Herald of Rock Hill that Morris got fed up and pulled out a pocket knife.

He is accused of slashing at Chismar’s neck, chest and hands. The victim is expected to recover.

When officers tracked down Morris, he claimed the men jumped him and he only pulled out the knife in self-defense.

The suspect is being held in jail with no bond.
