WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama accidentally misspelled “respect” at an event honoring music legend Aretha Franklin on Thursday at the White House.

“When Aretha (Franklin) first told us what R-S-P-E-C-T meant to her, she had no idea it would become a rallying cry for African Americans, and women, and then everyone who felt marginalized because of what they looked like or who they loved. They wanted some respect,” Obama said.

The audience gave a laugh and was more than willing to forgive the president.

The concert event featured an array of soul singers including Franklin and Patti LaBelle to 20-year-old Ariana Grande.

Glad to see that its not just “stupid Republicans” that are capable of making mistakes (i.e, Dan Quayle and Sarah Palin). Now let’s just see if Obama will be crucified for this gaffe as bad as Quayle and Palin were in the media. Trust me, I will not hold my breath on that one!

He’s running this country straight into the sewer and we care if he mispells a word? Only in America!

  • FaithC

Maybe he misspelled it because he has no clue of it’s meaning. He sure has none for legal US citizens or those who have served and are serving in our military.

Bet he can spell old English malt liquor. Has this liberal pos paid tribute to one dead soldier? Called the families of the Benghazi murders? Nope

Glad to see nobama had time to attend another event aimed at blacks on my nickel … Let’s see, the limos Air Force one, secret service, the ginormous amount of fabric it costs to cover the First Ladies a$$… This trip cost the taxpayers about $23,518,702.881. Maybe another pro athlete comes out if the closet so the comedian in chief can call him too… Waste I skin

Useless empty suit. No wonder this goon got elected after seeing all of those clueless knuckle draggers at the polling station.

I can certainly spell this word..But when it comes to Odumbo, I draw a blank and this word no longer exists..

Comeonnow’s comment is disgusting and blatantly racist. Additionally, when you have the benefits of spellcheck and not being filmed live, what’s your excuse for your spelling mistake?
