SAN DIEGO — A man dressed in a Barbie costume has been arrested after police say he hid in a bathroom stall at Big Lots and attempted to sexually assault a woman.

Gregory Schwartz, 40, was taken into custody Sunday.

The victim told police that the man crawled into the stall at the store in Clairemont, grabbed her and tried to sexually assault her.

She said he was wearing a Barbie outfit, which included a tutu.

The woman blacked out but was able to wake up and fight back. She ran out of the bathroom and told employees what happened.

Police said a store security guard confronted the suspect, but he threatened the guard with what appeared to be a screw driver and ran out of the store.

He was arrested in a neighborhood a short time later.

Schwartz is still in jail charged with three felonies, including false imprisonment and assault with intent to commit rape.

Schwartz's bail is set at $100,000. He is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday.
