Three hurt in shooting at Boom Boom Room nightclub in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Three people were hurt during a shooting at the Boom Boom Room nightclub in Fayetteville early Sunday morning.

Authorities say the shooting happened around 1:25 a.m. at the nightclub in the 100 block of South Eastern Boulevard.

Prior to the shooting, it was reported that a fight broke out inside the club which resulted in the person being kicked out.

Lorenzo Shepherd, 25, was allowed to reenter the nightclub a short time later and started arguing with an unknown black male.

During the altercation, an unknown person fired a gun inside of the nightclub and shot Shepherd.

Police say Shepherd, 23-year-old Shenequa McMillian, and 17-year-old Janielle Elliott were all hurt in the shooting.

Shepherd and Elliott were both transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center where Shepherd is listed in stable condition, but Elliott’s condition remains critical.

McMillian was taken to Southeastern Medical Center in Lumberton and is listed in stable condition.
