HOUSTON, Texas — An injured dog stuck on a busy freeway in Texas didn’t stand a chance, until a good Samaritan stopped to help.

According to KHOU, the injured yellow lab was spotted in the HOV lane of Eastex Freeway early Friday morning.

Rickey Young, a father and contractor, said he heard about the dog on the radio and wanted to help.

Animal Control officers were called to the scene, but the man got there first.

With the help of a sandwich, Young was able to coax the lab out of the freeway and into his truck.

It was all caught on tape.

The dog was taken to the vet where she was treated for broken bones and internal bleeding. She is expected to be OK.
