SINGIDA REGION, Tanzania — A pelican abandoned by his flock after a storm stumbled ashore and was taken in by the staff of Greystoke Mahale in Tanzania.

The staff say they had to teach the bird, affectionately named “Bigbird,” to fly by running up and down the beach flapping their arms.

In this amazing point-of-view video you can see Bigbird on one of his first flights.

The video was posted to YouTube yesterday and has already been viewed over 300,000 times.
