12 condos damaged in Greensboro fire; no injuries reported

400GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Crews are on the scene of a condo complex fire in Greensboro.

The fire was reported at the Carriage Village Condos at 6702 W. Friendly Ave.

The fire destroyed 6 condos and 6 others have smoke and water damage.

Officials confirmed there were no injuries in the fire, however one person was taken to the hospital for anxiety.

photoThe city issued a news release on Thursday afternoon:

"Due to a working structure fire in the 6700 Block of W. Friendly Ave. the west bound lane is blocked with emergency vehicles.  Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes at this time."

No other information has been provided.

The residents that lived in the 12 condos will be displaced due to damaged caused by the fire.

      The story was updated 43 minutes after Ann commented. Presumably, that was part of the update.

      I wonder what the cause of the fire was…

    I want to say a big THANK YOU to the firefighters and the policewoman who worked to save the life of a cat who was in that fire. Her taking off her coat and keeping that animal warm, the firefighters giving oxygen and getting it to a vet. They really went that extra mile and even tho its not my pet I just wanted them to know they are appreciated…
