Streets reopened at Willard Dairy Road, Oak Chase Drive after gas line rupture

HIGH POINT, N.C. — Police and firefighters responded to a natural gas pipeline rupture near Willard Dairy Road and Oak Chase Drive Monday afternoon.

The gas leak has been stopped.

Around 3:30 p.m., a contractor digging in the area punctured a line while excavating and notified emergency services.

Police blocked off a number of streets in the area while fire and rescue personnel checked gas levels in the air.

Piedmont Natural Gas was notified of the pipeline rupture.
