Man sought for armed robbery of Burlington convenience store

BURLINGTON, N.C. — Police are searching for a man in connection with the armed robbery of a convenience store Monday evening.

According to police, a man entered the BP Food Shop, located at 2303 S. Church St., around 5:30 p.m. and robbed the store at gun point.

The clerk described the suspect as a white male wearing a long black trench coat, a dark hat and a yellow bandanna covering his face. He was described as being possibly in his mid-20s and approximately 5’6″ to 5’7″ tall.

The suspect was given an undisclosed amount of money and fled the scene. He was last seen running behind the business along Gurney Street toward Edgewood Avenue.
