Missing 3-year-old found safe in Chatham County

GOLDSTON, N.C. (WTVD) — The search for a missing 3-year-old boy in Chatham County has ended with good news.

Authorities were searching the area of Wilson Road in Goldston for Jayston Gilliland.

The child is believed to have walked away from the family home, possibly with his brown/white dog around 1:30 p.m.

He was found around 6:30 p.m. about two miles away from his home.

The boy appeared to be in good health with no injuries.

Chatham County Sheriff Richard Webster said, “Teamwork is something we strive for daily. Today, teamwork paid off.”

The child was found with his dog.
