DURHAM, N.C. — A man is asking for an $827 refund after the UNC/Duke basketball game was postponed on Wednesday.

WRAL reported that Duke fan Jack Markham is seeking compensation from Duke Athletics Director Kevin White in the amount of $827.95 for his efforts.

Markham also added that he cannot attend the make-up game on Thursday. The game was scheduled for last Wednesday at Dean E. Smith Center in Chapel Hill, but was postponed due to weather just three and a half hours beforehand.

“I don’t know really what to expect from the university, but I do want some recognition for the fans like myself that were betrayed by the lack of planning and effort,” Markham said

Markham is asking Duke for $162 for two tickets, $58 for lodging at the Red Roof Inn, $37.95 for the unused parking pass in the Smith-Bowles Lot and $170 in fuel costs for him and his friend to make the trip. He also wants $400 for “mental anguish,” which he said was difficult to calculate.

Get over your mental angst. Why not ask for food since you asked for lodging? Ticket Liquidators can help resell tix in this case, but I am sure Duke will do the right thing for fans who can’t make the Thursday date.

If the game had gone on and this clown had gotten into an accident, he would “demand” that Duke compensate him for that. No wonder his wife cheats on him.
