GREENSBORO, N.C. — The emergency shelter location in Greensboro has been changed to the Windsor Recreation Center at 1601 East Lee Street.

StreetWatch, an outreach team serving homeless people, had planned to operate two emergency shelters during the winter weather, but the location has since been changed.

StreetWatch is coordinating transportation, volunteers, food and blankets for both locations. For additional information about the crisis shelters, contact Michele Forrest at StreetWatch at (336) 501-2918.

Greensboro police will check known locations where people live outdoors and encouraging anyone to take advantage of the shelters.

The City of Greensboro will open a warming station if local shelters reach capacity. Police will disseminate information about the warming station should it open.

People may contact the Greensboro Police Department for assistance or further information at (336) 373-2496 or call 911 in an emergency.
