YADKINVILLE, N.C. — A woman has been arrested and charged with felony drug possession following a traffic stop for a vehicle equipment violation.

Lindsey Ashton Stone, 20, of Yadkinville, was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell and deliver, felony possession of marijuana, failure to stop for lights and siren, driving left of center and a headlight equipment violation.

Officers stopped Stone shortly after midnight on U.S. 601 in Yadkinville after observing her driving with only one headlight on.

Stone failed to stop the vehicle immediately following police activating their lights and siren. Once stopped, officers approached the vehicle and detected an odor of marijuana.

While removing a 3-year-old child from the vehicle to allow officers to conduct a search, Stone allegedly attempted to conceal over two ounces of bagged marijuana.

Officers seized the drugs and Stone was placed under arrest.

Stone was placed under a $5,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court April 2.

An investigation is ongoing and Stone may face child endangerment charges.
