Girl, 12, accused of crashing stolen car into school bus

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A 12-year-old girl is accused of stealing a car and crashing it into a school bus in West Charlotte.

WSOC-TV reported that the crash happened at Parkway Avenue and Mathis Drive around 5 p.m. Wednesday and resulted in one person being hospitalized.

Police have arrested and charged the pre-teen with larceny of a motor vehicle, two counts of hit and run, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

The person who was taken to the hospital is expected to survive and two other people were treated at the scene.

Authorities said the suspect was taken to a juvenile detention facility.
