WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Forsyth County has hired a human resources director to replace John Dean, who took a position in Guilford County in September.

Shontell Robinson will begin her new position on Feb. 10, according to Damon Sanders-Pratt, the deputy county manager in Forsyth County.

Robinson currently serves as deputy director of the human resources department in Onslow County. Sanders-Pratt said that Robinson has nine years of experience as a human resources director or manager in the private sector.

Her starting salary will be $100,984.

Out of dozens of candidates, the county called in four for interviews, Sanders-Pratt said. Robinson rose to the top because of her experience, interview, writing sample, assessment center performance and recommendations, Sanders-Pratt said.

Karen White has led the county’s human resources department as deputy director since Dean left.
